Ivy Place ~ Folly Court ~ Sand Pit Sole Lane

Ivy Place was once known as Folly Court and before that Sand Pit Sole Lane when it apparently went through to Middle Street. It is now a cul-de-sac.
In the Deal, Walmer & Sandwich Telegram dated 28 June 1870 there was a very polite notice printed requesting a change of name. It said –

“Mr. Tom Norris, pilot and the other occupiers of Folly Court, would consider it a favour
if the Commissioners would allow the name to be altered to Ivy Place.   Agreed.”
